Clenched fists, black eyes and bleeding ears: the premiere of Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” was one of the great scandals in music history. More than a century later, the former shocker has long been a classic. With #sacrelectro the junge norddeutsche philharmonie pushed the work further: 111 musicians, five live electronic artists, 2,000 smartphones creating three-dimensional sound fields, and an orchestra improvising freely in sound and space.
